Event Details

What: We will explore this often overlooked local treasure, and learn about the history, and diverse ecology of this beautiful site. The route selected is 3 miles long, and covers gentle rolling terrain. We will discuss how man has impacted the landscape of this site, from bluestone quarries to blueberry cultivation, and how nature has responded to those impacts. Comfortable and sturdy footwear should be worn, sunscreen, and insect repellant are advised. We will stop at a backcountry campsite for a snack, and discussion of our observations.
