Geared mainly toward public librarians, this 3 hour session covers reference service provision to those asking health-related questions. The class will explore specific issues that may arise in a health reference interview, and focus on answering health reference questions with information resources available freely online. The class will also examine collection development tools for choosing consumer health materials, and the resources, services and programs for librarians offered by the Dana Medical Library, Fletcher Allen Health Care and the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, New England Region. The session will combine demonstrations and hands-on activities.
