In the morning we'll discuss building maintenance issues: “Our building is eating us alive. What can we do to minimize our problems and costs in operating the physical plant?” An engineer will provide an overview of good preventive maintenance practices and inspection schedules.
In the afternoon the focus will be on space: “We’re bursting at the seams!. Can we move things around? Do we need to expand? Is it time to consider a move to a new building?” An architect will help us to understand the decision making process in evaluating the issues and potential solutions to the overcrowding problem many libraries are facing.
