Event Type: Technology Workshop Date: 6/17/2010 Start Time: 9:30 AM End Time: 12:00 PM Description: In this half-day workshop we will answer the question: What software options enable patrons to have a meaningful and useful computer experience while still protecting the machines? We will look at simple tools and strategies for configuring and managing public access computers. We will discuss the current standard for hardware and software and what “lockdown” options are available. You’ll have hands-on opportunity to look at various options, including OpenOffice and Deepfreeze. Come and share your successes and hear what other librarians are doing.
