The library presents a fun performance and lecture by author and performer Rick Berger.

So just how exciting is a ventriloquist’s life after the heady exhilaration of FBI work? Berger entertains us with his puppets as well as with the story of his career change from FBI Agent to entertainer. After thirty years of an exciting job during which he felt like a "misplaced agent," he trades in his handgun for a hand puppet and finally heeds his true calling – entertaining audiences.
Way back in his tender years, Berger already knew he wanted to perform on stage. It was a desire, a drive to entertain and be the center of attention. He attempted to refine his art and staged small performances, but a series of setbacks in grade school play-acting pushed the dream onto the shelf. After varied work experiences, including becoming a professional photographer, Rick enlisted in the air force and serve during the Vietnam War as an award-winning photojournalist. Upon joining the FBI, he continued his photo career before becoming a full-fledged agent.
