The interesting people included Little Nellie, who at age 11 was newspaper editress during the Civil War; inventor Almon Strowger; Samuel Rich, who walked from Massachusetts to Penfield an operated a mill with Andrew Lincoln, later building the Daisy Flour Mill, and Calvin Owen, whose memories contain a wealth of information about Penfield in the 1880’s soon to be published as a Bicentennial Project.
