Dr. Betsy Diamant-Cohen is coming to Indiana to present her Mother Goose on the Loose All Day training at four locations! The trainings will be worth 6 Library Education Units (6 LEUs) and will include information about baby brain development and school readiness, as well as a hands-on Mother Goose on the Loose session to teach participants how to implement the Mother Goose on the Loose program at their libraries. Mother Goose on the Loose is the award-winning early-literacy program for children from birth to age 3 with their parents or caregivers and is an innovative program based on research which shows that children learn best through routine and repetition in a nurturing environment. Mother Goose on the Loose uses a variety of activities, such as rhymes, songs, puppets and instruments to foster speech development, motor coordination, self-confidence, and sensitivity to others. By the end of this workshop, participants should feel comfortable planning and running programs of their own. Workshops are as follows: Friday – August 1, 2014 / Owen County Public Library / Spencer, IN Saturday – August 2, 2014 / Tippecanoe County Public Library / Lafayette, IN Monday – August 4, 2014 / Decatur County Public Library/ Greensburg, IN Tuesday – August 5, 2014 / Muncie Public Library, Maring-Hunt Branch / Muncie, IN All trainings will follow the following times: 9:00-12:00 / Training 12:00-1:00 / Lunch on your own 1:00-4:00 / Training All times listed are Eastern Times. Participants must register to attend and must bring 4 ounces of Aleene's Original Tacky Glue. Registration is required. Registration closes at 11:55 PM on July 18th.
