Intellectual freedom is a basic and important value of librarianship but there are many organizations and artists that support the library's mission of challenging censorship in the local community. Join us for a half-day workshop on intellectual freedom hosted by the Indiana State Library! Julia Whitehead, Executive Director of the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library, will discuss Kurt Vonnegut's personal response to censorship challenges of his own literature. Mike Costello, President of Downtown Comics, will share the unique history of censorship attempts on comic books and the industry's response. Please join us for this special event!
