Children who would like practice, especially those with reading difficulties, will have the opportunity to read-out-loud to a specially trained therapy dog from Therapy Dogs International. Children will have the opportunity to sit with the dog in a quiet spot in the library, get to know the dog, choose a book, and read to their furry buddy. The child can relax and forget about how hard he/she thinks reading is, and instead, look forward to it.

 Aries and owner, Caley, will be at the library 3 Wednesdays in July between 3:30-5:00 pm. Parents may sign children up for a 15 min. time slot.Please register each time by contacting Ginny Figlia, Youth Services Librarian, at 845-831-1134, ex.103 or youth@beaconlibrary.org.
