KAPLAN Practice SAT

When: Saturday, November 21, 2009 - 9:30 AM
Where: Elma Gaffney Meeting Room

Full length practice SAT for students to see how they would score on the actual test. Each student will receive a full score report including a breakdown of the test by section and personalized feedback based on their test scores. Students need to bring a calculator and #2 pencils. Open to students in grades 9 through 12. Results for this free practice exam will be mailed directly to the student. The same exam is given each session, but an alternate exam is available if requested. The test begins promptly at 9:30am with no admittance after testing is underway…just like the real thing!

KAPLAN SAT Critical Reading Workshop

In a survey of recent test-takers, the Critical Reading section of the SAT was voted most difficult by students. At this event participants will get an inside look at what skills are needed to master passages in the SAT Critical Reading section, and learn Kaplan methods and apply them to realistic practice questions. Open to students in grades 9 through 12.

One stroke painting

This seminar can be used as a stand-alone event or as a follow-up to the SAT practice test. The event will cover the format and content of the tests, walk through various question types (directly from the practice test) using key Kaplan strategies, and give students and parents a basic study plan for success. American Red Cross Babysitting Class

NEW DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to provide 11-15 year olds the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. Through hands-on activities, interactive video and lively discussions, this course will help participants to: care for children and infants, develop leadership skills, keep themselves and others safe, handle emergencies such as injuries, illness and household accidents and learn how to develop a babysitting business. The successful candidate will receive certification as an American Red Cross babysitter as well as certification in American Red Cross First Aid. Open to students age 11-15. Fee for this one-day class is $40.00 – check or money order made payable to the American Red Cross – due on the day of class. Students need to bring lunch, drink, and a snack. ALSO...students will need to bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Students will receive their certificates through the mail after the class.
